Ahead of the official global release, images of the new Suzuki Jimny have been revealed.

Emulating the small, lightweight authentic off-roaders that have come before it, the new Jimny showcases Suzuki’s 4WD technology, as it has done since the first model rolled out the door in 1970.

The new Jimny will be built on a ladder frame chassis with three-link rigid axle suspension and a part-time 4WD with low range transfer gear.

Internally the Jimny will feature a no-nonsense, practical layout with a ‘down-to-earth beauty’.

There is little point banging on about specification levels, global markets could get a variety of drivetrains.

Locally, Suzuki Australia General Manager – Automotive, Mr Michael Pachota said: “we can still not confirm whether New Jimny will be available for the Australian market. However, we are hopeful, with Suzuki Motor Corporation's recent reveal, our request for this vehicle will be confirmed soon.”
