Porsche has expanded its 2017 Cayenne range to include two new Platinum Edition models.

The Cayenne S Platinum Edition and Cayenne S Diesel Platinum Edition are on sale now and build on the standard equipment levels of the Cayenne S and Cayenne S Diesel models.

For Porsche, pricing looks sharp with the S Platinum Edition set at $137,100 and the S Diesel Platinum Edition at $142,500 plus on-road costs. Porsche claim this represents reductions in price over the standard S models, by 4.3 and 4.4 percent, respectively.

Combine the sharper price with the additional features valued at over $12,000, there is an argument to be made about value for money in the context of the rest of the Cayenne range.

On the outside, Platinum Edition models gain 21-inch Sport Edition wheels in Platinum with a satin finish as standard and window surrounds in sporty high gloss black.

Interior comfort is improved with the addition of eight-way leather sports seats (front) with Alcantara seat centres and a Panoramic Roof. For some interior visual enhancement, the Porsche crest appears on all head rests.

Extra safety equipment has also been include with Surround View park assist, Lane Change Assist, Connect Plus for the Porsche Communication Management system and Power Steering Plus.

There has been no change to power outputs or fuel consumption, they remain the same as the S models, with the 309 kW 3.6-litre six-cylinder bi-turbo engine in the Cayenne S consuming 9.8 L/100 km, and the V8 engine with twin turbocharging in the Cayenne S Diesel generating 283 kW, and consuming 8.2 L/100 km.

The Cayenne S Platinum Edition models can be ordered in solid black or white, or the metallic colours of Jet Black, Mahogany, Purpurite, Carrara White and Rhodium Silver.

Both new additions to the Cayenne range are now available to order with first deliveries expected from late May of this year.

Let’s start a Car Conversation, is anybody currently in the market for a new Cayenne or have one on order? Can anyone give some feedback on ownership of a Cayenne?
