A quiet week on the recall front with only Toyota pressing the button.

Toyota is recalling a number of Prius vehicles sold between November 27, 2015, and May 14, 2018. A fault with the engine wire harness which is connected to the hybrid vehicle Power Control Unit has been identified.

A problem can occur if the wire harness contacts the connector cover and wears away over time, this could result in an electrical short circuit or a fire due to friction.

Toyota will contact known owners of affected vehicles and advise them to take their vehicle to their nearest Toyota dealership. Vehicles will be inspected with the engine wire harness replaced free of charge if required.

Concerned owners can also check here using their VIN to see if their vehicle is affected by the recall or call the Toyota Recall Assist Helpline on 1800 987 366 between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday.
