A multitude of new recalls and updates to previous recalls have arrived this week affecting Audi, Citroen, Honda, Mazda, BMW and Nissan vehicles.

Audi has updated their recall of the Q5 models manufactured between March 2018 and May 2018 with more VINs added to the list of affected vehicles. A problem with the rear brake piston’s coating could affect their performance and pose an accident risk.

Audi is in the process of contacting owners of affected vehicles or if owners have concerns they can contact their nearest Audi dealer or visit the Product Safety website to check affected VINs.

The list of cars affected by the defective Takata airbag inflators grows with Citroen issuing a recall for the C3 (A5 Series) MY09-MY14, C4 (B7 Series) MY10-MY15, DS3 MY09-MY16, DS4 MY11-MY15 and DS5 MY11-MY15 vehicles. Owners of potentially affected vehicles can contact their local Citroen dealership, check their VINs here or visit the recently launched www.IsMyAirbagSafe.com.au website. A replacement airbag inflator will be fitted free of charge.

Also afflicted with the defective Takata airbag inflator curse and updating previous recalls is Honda. It might have been quicker to list those vehicles NOT affected by the recall, however, updated and included in the recall this time around are the Jazz MY04-MY09, Accord Euro MY04-MY09, CR-V MY02-09, Civic MY04-11, City MY09 and Accord MY08-MY11 vehicles.

As with Citroen owners, Honda owners can contact their local dealership, check their VIN on Product Safety Australia here, here or here or more simply check the website set up for concerned owners to check whether their vehicle is affected using their registration and state.

Mazda is recalling Mazda CX-5 (KF) diesel and Mazda CX-8 (KG) diesel vehicles which have an engine which may not restart after being switched off. If the vehicle fails to restart it is also unable to be moved which could turn it into a hazard for occupants and other road users.

Mazda is contacting customers with affected vehicles and will install a revised PCM calibration for free. Customers who think they might have an affected vehicle can also contact a Mazda dealer or check their VIN here.

The latest BMW recall affects BMW X3 and BMW X4. Details of the defect include the risk of air getting trapped in the hydraulic braking system which could cause extended brake pedal travel, the rear brake circuit to fail or even the brake pedal to travel to the floor.

BMW is attempting to contact owners but owners who think their vehicle might be affected are urged to call the BMW Group Customer Interaction Centre on 1800 813 299 or check their VIN at the Product Safety Australia website.

Finally, Nissan C11 Tiida vehicles built between October 2006 and December 2012 may be on the recall list due to defective Takata airbag inflators, sound familiar?
