Monday, December 4th, 2017 marked the opening day of business for the world’s first Mercedes-AMG stand-alone, full-service showroom in Sydney.
Known as AMG Sydney, this is the first dedicated sales-and-service showroom for Mercedes-AMG vehicles. The new showroom hopes to present customers with an immersive but approachable brand experience.
The Sydney AMG dealership joins a showroom in Tokyo, as the only dedicated Mercedes-AMG showrooms. The main differences being the Sydney dealership isn’t attached to a Mercedes-Benz dealer and offers servicing.
Tobias Moers, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes AMG GmbH, said, “We are very proud to open our second stand-alone store here in Sydney. It is a great chance to underline the importance of the Australian market to our brand and to ensure that our customers can experience the AMG spirit as well as the ideal service for their car – everything of course Affalterbach approved.”
AMG Sydney will cater for not only brand new Mercedes-AMG models but pre-owned vehicles as well, along with a complete workshop for all AMG models.
The showroom expands across two storeys with an exclusive focus on the models and themes of the performance brand. A select team has been put together which includes an AMG Brand Manager, sales specialists and AMG technicians who have graduated from the Mercedes-AMG training academy in Affalterbach, Germany.
The showroom will also be able to cater to special events such as market launches and VIP events. State-of-the-art video and audio technology have been included throughout the building.
Customers will be able to configure their Mercedes-AMG vehicles to their personal preferences while a sound counter lets them experience different engine sounds. Down below vehicles are displayed on asphalt which is contrasted with the white ‘arena’ in the upper storey.
AMG Sydney was opened with a spectacular launch event on Saturday, December 2. Many cars were on display including the AMG GT Concept, an AMG GT3 race car and the new Mercedes-AMG GT R.
