Australian pricing is now available for the entire 2018 Mercedes-AMG GT range.

The range will kick off in coupe form at a cost of $258,711 plus on-roads. If you wish to feel the wind in your hair the price of admission rises to $283,711. The 30k difference is enough to buy a reasonable hatchback for the daily drive, preserving the GT for the weekend.

Mercedes are sticking with the old-school soft top for the roadster, there’s no folding metal to be seen. The AMG GT will use a triple layer fabric roof which can open and close in 11 seconds up to a speed of 50 km/h.

A ‘draught stop’ wind deflector and heated seats are also found on the roadster to increase open air comfort.

As with the coupe, the roadster range will open with the 350kW/630Nm V8 mated to the AMG SPEEDSHIFT 7G-DCT transmission.

Those who opt for the AMG GT C will get a power increase to 410kW/680Nm.

Mercedes claims weight distribution of 47:53 per cent.

The AMG GT C Edition 50 Coupe will be available until 2018 and be powered by the same 410kW/680Nm V8 as the GT C Roadster.

Extra kit found on the Edition 50 will include unique Edition 50 detailing in the head restraints and steering wheel bezel, AMG performance seats and steering wheel, AMG night package, quilted nappa leather upholstery, 19/20-inch AMG cross-spoke forged wheels and a choice of graphite grey magno or cashmere white magno paint colours.

With so many three-pointed stars now on the road, if optioned in the right colour, the AMG GT might stand out enough to be considered exclusive.
