BMW has confirmed the eight examples of the M850i xDrive First Edition headed to Australia will be priced from $295,900 plus on-road costs.

Limited to 400 units globally, the First Edition commands a premium of $23,000 over the regular M850i xDrive coupe which is priced from $272,900 plus on-roads.

For the extra coin, the First Edition is differentiated by BMW Individual Frozen Barcelona Blue metallic paintwork, 20-inch jet black M light alloy wheels in Y- spoke configuration and the BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line package, which includes a high-gloss finish on the kidney grille and side air breathers.

Also standard is the M Carbon Exterior Package which brings carbon-fibre front air intake inserts, exterior mirror caps, rear boot lid spoiler, diffuser insert and tailpipe surrounds.

On the inside, the First Edition features full bicolour Ivory White and Night Blue Merino leather, a Night Blue Alcantara headliner, an M Sport steering wheel wrapped in Night Blue leather, piano black accents and a ‘First Edition 1/400’ signet on the centre console cover.

There’s also a 16-speaker Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System that uses a 10-channel active amplifier to pump out 1400 watts.

Powering the M850i xDrive First Edition is the same 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine found in the standard car, it develops 390kW of power and 750Nm of torque. An eight-speed automatic sends power to all four wheels. BMW claims a 0-100km/h sprint time of 3.7 seconds.

If you’re keen, the order book for the M850i xDrive First Edition is open now with deliveries due to commence in July.
