Specifications and pricing have been announced for the 2019 Genesis G80 sedan ahead of its expected Australian arrival in June this year.

Genesis will offer the G80 in two trim levels with an optional Sport Design package.

Moving to the G80 Ultimate ($88,900 plus on-roads) adds Nappa leather trim, heated and ventilated front and outboard rear seats, a heated steering wheel, a panorama glass sunroof, powered soft-close doors, powered tailgate, a head-up display, power rear seats, suede headlining and pillar covers, smart key card (credit card type key), a 7.0-inch colour TFT-LCD instrument cluster display and 19-inch alloy wheels.

Adding the optional $4000 Sport Design Pack brings 19-inch multi-spoke with dark grey satin finish and copper highlights, an assortment of dark chrome accents, a unique grille, a sports body kit, dual chrome exhaust tips and stainless steel pedal covers. Bi-xenon headlights take the place of the LED units on the standard car.

All G80 variants are powered by a naturally-aspirated 3.8-litre V6 engine which develops 232kW at 6000rpm and 397Nm at 5000rpm. Torque is sent to the rear through an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Four selectable modes – Normal, Eco, Sport and Snow – are available via an integrated drive mode control system.

The Genesis Adaptive Control Suspension (GACS) with specific Australian tuning is also standard for both grades and includes dynamic stability damping control (DSDC) and electronic control suspension (ECS) which uses continuously variable dampers.

Also standard on both grades is the Genesis Active Safety Control suite which includes autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot collision warning, driver attention warning and automatic high beam.
