Specs and pricing have been announced for the Lexus LS Inspiration Series to celebrate the flagship limo’s 30th anniversary.

 

Priced from $198,922 plus on-road costs, the LS Inspiration is differentiated by 20-inch Dark Vapor alloy wheels and the option of Khaki Metal exterior paint. Sonic Quartz, Liquid Metal and Scarlet Crimson are also available.

 

Internally, the anniversary LS gets chestnut semi-aniline leather-accented trim and brown fabric door trim, as well as an intricate walnut Lexus-insignia laser-cut ornamentation.

 

There’s also a Kiriko pattern ornamentation panel across the passenger side of the dashboard which features an engraved "30th Anniversary" signature with blue illumination.

 

Wider equipment highlights include a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, satellite navigation, voice control, DAB+ radio, a 23-speaker Mark Levinson audio system and twin 11.6-inch rear entertainment screens.

 

Comfort is taken care of with heated and ventilated front and rear seats, massage function for rear passengers, rear sunshades and a rear cooler box (LC500 only).

 

To coincide with the arrival of the LS Inspiration, the ‘regular’ LS range has been bolstered with lane tracing assist (LTA) on Sports Luxury grades, which can detect curves ahead and reduce vehicle speed when entering a particular bend, a new curve speed reduction feature and parking support brake system have also been added.

 

All variants will also get revised adaptive variable suspension which now incorporates a redesigned independent extension and compression design and altered damping force.

 

LS500 models get an updated start/stop system, along with liquid-filled front mounts on the rear suspension member, replacing the previous rubber mounts in order to further reduce vehicle body vibration.

 

Power comes from either a 3.5-litre 254kW V6 hybrid powertrain or a 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged 310kW/600Nm V6 petrol engine.

 

As with the recently introduced LC Inspiration Series, fewer than 10 units of the LS special edition will be available locally.
