The new Mercedes-AMG GLE63 S Coupe has been revealed ahead of a local arrival in the third quarter of 2020.

Like the wagon version, power comes from a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, which features the brand’s EQ Boost mild-hybrid technology to produce 450kW and 850Nm.

The EQ Boost starter-alternator can provide an additional 16kW and 250Nm for a faster take off. The mild-hybrid set-up also allows the car to coast at speed, along with providing smoother operation of the start/stop function.

Power is sent to the variable 4Matic+ all-wheel drive system through an AMG calibrated nine-speed automatic transmission.

Mercedes-AMG claims the GLE63 S Coupe can sprint from 0-100km/h in 3.8 seconds on its way to a top speed of 280km/h. Fuel consumption is listed at 11.5L/100km on the combined cycle.

An electronic rear-axle locking differential, air suspension with special spring/damper set-up and adaptive adjustable damping are all standard.

Further equipment highlights include the Panamericana grille, 22-inch alloy wheels, AMG seats for the driver and front passenger, Nappa leather trim, the latest AMG steering wheel design, and the MBUX infotainment system with unique AMG displays.

Mercedes-AMG has confirmed the GLE63 S will arrive locally in the third quarter of 2020. Australian specifications and pricing will be confirmed closer to the launch date.
