Mini Australia has confirmed 40 examples of the Countryman Sterling Edition will be offered locally priced from $62,900 plus on-road costs.

Based on the Countryman Cooper S, Mini says the Sterling Edition is specially produced for Australian and New Zealand markets.

Equipment highlights include 19-inch alloy wheels featuring a Union Jack design, unique White Silver metallic paint with the roof and exterior mirrors finished in jet black, bonnet stripes in melting silver, a Mini Yours badge on the rear glasshouse and a panoramic electric sunroof.

On the inside, buyers get carbon black leather trim, electric front seats, illuminated interior surfaces in piano black, floor mats with a Mini Yours logo, and exclusive Sterling badging marking each vehicle as a limited edition located on the passenger side of the dash.

Like the regular Countryman line-up, the Sterling Edition features an 8.8-inch infotainment touchscreen, satellite navigation with real-time traffic updates, Mini Connect services and Apple CarPlay.

Power comes from the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine found in the Countryman Cooper S, it’s tuned to produce 141kW and 280Nm and paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. Mini claims it can sprint from 0-100km/h in 7.5 seconds.
