The 2020 Porsche Cayenne Coupe has been revealed, the two model range will arrive in Australia early next year priced from $128,400 plus on-road costs.
The obvious design change is the unique rear section which comprises a 20mm lower roof edge and adaptive rear spoiler, along with redesigned rear doors and fenders.
Combining the existing roof spoiler with the new adaptive rear spoiler as part of the Porsche Active Aerodynamics (PAA) increases contact pressure on the rear axle as the PAA enhances efficiency. The spoiler is able to extend by up to 135mm at speeds of 90km/h and above.
Further changes from the regular Cayenne includes a shallower front windscreen and A-pillar, and individualistic rear passenger seating.
Included in the packages as part of the Sport Design features are new, weight-reduced 22-inch GT Design wheels, seat centres in classic checked fabric, and carbon and Alcantara accents in the interior. Cayenne Turbo Coupe models also get a sports exhaust system as part of the package.
Due to the Coupe body style, rear passengers sit 30mm lower allowing for sufficient headroom even with the lowered silhouette. 625 litres of boot capacity is also available which can increase to 1540 litres with the rear seats folded down. Slightly less is offered in the Cayenne Turbo Coupe version with 600 to 1510 litres available.
The Cayenne Coupe is powered by a 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine which develops 250kW/450Nm. The Sport Chrono pack is standard meaning the 0 to 100km/h dash is recorded at 6.0 seconds on the way to a top speed of 243km/h.
The top-spec Cayenne Turbo Coupe gets a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 404kW and 770Nm. Hitting triple figures from a standing start can be achieved in 3.9 seconds on the way to a top speed of 286km/h.
The 2020 Porsche Cayenne Coupe is available to order now starting from $128,400 for the Cayenne Coupe and $254,000 for the Cayenne Turbo Coupe plus on-road costs. Deliveries are expected to commence from the beginning of next year.
