The refreshed Renault Koleos SUV has been revealed overnight ahead of a European launch in October.

According to Renault, the exterior updates give the Koleos a more assertive presence on the road. Changes include a new front bumper, wider grille, new chrome trim, larger front and rear skid plates, repositioned upper brake light and new two-tone alloy wheel designs. There’s also a new Vintage Red metallic paint option.

On the inside, buyers get more soft-touch materials, revised satin trim inserts, a massaging function for the driver's seat and a two-stage reclining seat back for rear passengers.

Renault’s R-LINK 2 touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay is standard. This applies to both the 7.0- and 8.7-inch screens.

Safety gets a boost with the autonomous emergency braking system now featuring pedestrian detection.

European markets get two new turbo-diesel engines starting with a 1.8-litre 110kW/340Nm Blue dCi 150 unit, it’s matched with a CVT that sends power to the front wheels.

There’s also a 2.0-litre 140kW/380Nm Blue dCi 190 oiler, that’s also connected to a CVT which sends the torque to all four wheels through the All Mode 4x4-i system.

Renault’s Australian arm is yet to confirm when the updated Koleos will be available locally.
