Updates have been announced for the 2021 Mazda CX-8 range that brings the SUV into line with its larger CX-9 stablemate.
For 2021, there’s a new CX-8 Asaki LE range-topper that features a six-seat layout with captain's chairs in the second-row.
There’s also a new Touring SP variant with the choice of petrol or diesel engines.
CX-8 Touring SP models are differentiated by 19-inch black metallic alloy wheels, black grille and black mirror caps. On the inside, buyers get a suede-like trim on the seats and red contrast stitching.
On CX-8 GT models and above a 10.25-inch infotainment screen running the latest Mazda Connect system is now standard, as is a new remote operated, hands-free tailgate.

The powertrains have been carried over starting with a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine making 140kW of power and 252Nm of torque.
All petrol-powered CX-8 variants get a six-speed automatic transmission that drives the front wheels.
There’s also a 2.2-litre four-cylinder twin-turbo diesel unit that produces 140kW of power and 450Nm of torque. It’s also matched to a six-speed automatic but buyers get the choice of front- or all-wheel drive.
