Australian specs and pricing have been announced for the updated 2021 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross ahead of a showroom arrival next month.

Pricing starts at $30,290 plus on-road costs for the ES and tops out at $40,790 plus on-roads for the flagship Exceed AWD. Pricing for the PHEV variant hasn’t been announced, however, it will join the range next year.

Changes to the exterior include an evolved version of the brand’s Dynamic Shield grille, a new front bumper guard and a refreshed light layout.

At the rear, there’s now a redesigned hatch and rear window in place of the split rear-window design of the outgoing car.

Inside the cabin, the infotainment screen has grown to 8.0-inches and moved closer to the driver and front-seat passenger for ease of use, and now incorporates volume and tuning knobs for faster operation.

The touchpad that was previously used for multiple functions has been removed to allow for more storage space in the centre console.

Each grade’s equipment highlights can be found below.

At launch, every Eclipse Cross model uses a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 110kW of power and 250Nm of torque, it’s matched to a CVT automatic.

Buyers get the choice of either front- or all-wheel drive.

The updated Eclipse Cross can be ordered now ahead of an official on-sale date in December.
