Mitsubishi Motors Australia has announced it will offer a permanent 10-year/200,000km warranty, however, there is a catch.

To qualify for the 10-year warranty coverage, owners are required to service their car on time at a Mitsubishi dealer. Using an independent mechanic will see the warranty revert to a five-year term with a 100,000km mileage cap.

Dubbed, the Diamond Advantage Program, the longer warranty is accompanied by a 10-year/150,000km capped-price service program and four years roadside assistance.

This program is available to private buyers and small businesses with a fleet of fewer than five vehicles.

The Diamond Advantage Program is applicable across the entire Mitsubishi range which includes the Mirage, ASX, Eclipse Cross, Outlander, Pajero, Pajero Sport, Triton and Express van.

Should the vehicle be sold on, the Diamond Advantage Program can also be transferred to subsequent owners if the warranty is maintained through dealer servicing.

Mitsubishi’s PHEV models also have a separate eight-year/160,000km warranty on the battery pack.

The new 10-year warranty is applied to all new Mitsubishi models sold from October 1.
