Australian specs and pricing have been announced for the updated 2021 SsangYong Musso ahead of a showroom arrival in July.

Externally, the updated Musso is distinguished by a new front end dominated by a large grille, darkened door handles and mirror caps, revised alloy wheel designs, and the addition of LED combination tail-lights.

SsangYong will continue to offer the Musso in ELX and Ultimate trim levels, both of which can be had in XLV guise adding an extra 300mm to the length of the tub.

As with the outgoing model, the Musso has a coil-sprung rear suspension, while the XLV has a leaf-spring setup.

Buyers of the Ultimate variant have the option of adding a Luxury Pack for $3000 which brings niceties including Nappa leather seat trim, powered front seats, heated rear seats and a powered sunroof.

Power continues to come from a 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine producing 133kW of power and 400Nm of torque in the standard-wheelbase model. In the longer XLV models, the torque output increases to 420Nm.

The entry-level ELX is available with a six-speed manual transmission, or a six-speed Aisin automatic. The Ultimate variants are exclusively offered with the automatic.

A switchable four-wheel-drive system with low-range gearing and an automatic locking rear differential is standard across the line-up.

The updated Musso is available to order now with deliveries set to begin next month.
