It’s confirmed! The Aston Martin V12 Speedster will go into production later this year.

The limited-run V12 Speedster will make its public debut in 2020 ahead of customer deliveries in the first quarter of 2021.

Aston Martin says the work of designers and engineers, along with the expertise of by in-house bespoke service Q division will ensure the Speedster will “offer the very best of sports car, motorsport and aviation technology.”

The design aesthetic eludes to Aston Martin’s legendary 1959 Le Mans 24 hours DBR1 and the Centenary CC100 Speedster Concept shown in 2013 with features shaped from advanced materials. This includes the two-seater open cockpit arrangement.

Powering the Speedster is the 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 engine which generates 515kW of power and 700Nm of torque. It’s matched to a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels.

The engine tune slots it between the DB11 (447kW and 700Nm,) and the DBS Superleggera (533kW and 900Nm).

Depending on the final pricing, the car’s most direct rival could be the McLaren Elva roadster.

In total, only 88 examples of V12 Speedster will be offered globally with orders open now and deliveries expected to begin in the first quarter of 2021.
