Ford customers now have access to a new ‘Ford Pick Up and Drop Off service’ during the COVID-19 pandemic with the blue oval announcing a complimentary collection and return of a vehicle when servicing or warranty repairs are needed.

The initiative removes the need for customers to bring their vehicle to a serving centre and will initially run until June 30, 2020.

As part of the pick up and drop off service, the customer's car will be collected and returned, key touchpoints will be disinfected and there will be a variety of cashless payment options available.

“The Ford Pick Up and Drop Off Service provides our service customers the reassurance they can get necessary vehicle work completed without leaving home, and the peace of mind that their vehicle is disinfected afterwards,” said Kay Hart, Ford Australia President and CEO.

The disinfection process will involve a thorough sanitization of the interior and exterior surfaces including door handles, steering wheel, centre console, park brake, infotainment system buttons, touchscreen, start/stop button, armrests, various control switches, seatbelt buckles, rear boot lid button, bonnet and latch, the fuel door as well as the key fob.

An alcohol-based cleaner with anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral properties will be used which will quickly yet thoroughly sanitize the hard surfaces without damaging the plastics, elastomers and rubbers.

“We’re pleased to be able to offer extra convenience and peace of mind to customers during this difficult time,” added John Cooper, Chairman of the Ford Australia National Dealer Council.

“These new services build on the strict hygiene and sanitation processes we’ve built in across the network.”
