Only 100 examples of the Wrangler Rubicon Recon are headed our way which consists of 60 four-door and 40 two-door models.

Pricing starts from $66,950 plus on-road costs for the the three-door version, while the five-door Recon starts from $71,450 plus on-roads.

Differentiating the Rubicon Recon is a steel front bumper with hoop, a reinforced tailgate, 17-inch machined and black-painted wheels, a gloss black grille and matte black hood and fender vent decals.

On the inside, upgrades include heated black leather seats, a heated steering wheel, a premium wrapped instrument mid-panel with red stitching, and red seatbelts.

The Trail-Rail Management System is fitted to four-door models to help secure and organise the cargo space.

Power comes from a 3.6-litre naturally-aspirated V6 engine producing 209kW and 347Nm. It’s paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, the Rock-Trac four-wheel drive system with a two-speed transfer case, locking front and rear differentials, and an electronic disconnecting front sway bar.
