Following the recent 5-star ANCAP safety rating awarded to the LDV T60 ute, the 2018 LDV D90 SUV has also scored the full line of stars from ANCAP.

Dinesh Chinnappa, General Manager of LDV Automotive Australia, said, “The D90 not only meets the stringent criteria set by ANCAP for the 5-star rating, with technology such as road sign recognition, it reveals the next generation of road safety features.”

The D90 comes equipped with many safety features which helped achieve the full 5-stars such as blind spot warning, lane wander alert, traffic sign alerts, autonomous braking, front collision warning and electronic stability control and six airbags.

The D90’s safety credentials are strengthened by the advanced energy absorbing technology around the rigid passenger safety cell.

Overall the D90 achieved a total score of 35.05 points out of 37, slightly lower than the Jeep Compass which is also a recent ANCAP graduate. A perfect score was achieved in the Side Impact Test and Pole Test with Whiplash Protection scored as the maximum rating of ‘Good’.

At a slightly lower rating was the Pedestrian Protection test which came in at 27.37 points out of 36 which achieves the rating of ‘Acceptable’.

The 5-star ANCAP safety rating applies to all LDV D90 variants built from November 2017 onwards.

ANCAP has had a busy few weeks with safety ratings released for the Jaguar F-PACE, Kia Stinger and Holden Equinox.
