Lexus has revealed its first fully-electric vehicle, the UX300e.

The UX300e is equipped with a 54.3kWh lithium-ion battery pack that feeds an electric motor which produces 150kW and 300Nm. According to the rarely accurate NEDC test cycle, with a full battery, a driving range of 400km is possible.

A fast charger can replenish the battery in about 50 minutes, while a household connection can do the job in around seven hours.

The suspension has been tuned to target the same high steering response and ride comfort as the UX250h, most notably, the shock-absorber damping force has been optimised to match the additional battery capacity.

Compared with the UX250h, the roof has a 5mm higher peak while ground clearance is 20mm lower.

On the inside, the UX300e is virtually identical to the standard UX range. Buyers can expect to see unique EV menus and functions incorporated into the infotainment system.

The UX 300e is scheduled to go on sale in China and Europe next year and in Japan in early 2021. At this stage, it’s not confirmed for Australia.
