To celebrate the company’s 100th birthday, Mazda Australia has confirmed a selection of 100th Anniversary Special Editions will be available locally.

After starting as a cork manufacturer, the brand shifted to cars in the 1960s with the R360 Coupe.

The 100th Anniversary Special Editions will pay tribute to the R360 by borrowing the Coupe’s distinctive burgundy and white two-tone design.

All Special Edition models will be finished in Snowflake White Pearl Mica paint and feature burgundy leather seats, carpet and floor mats. Fancy.

MX-5 versions will also get a burgundy soft-top.

The Anniversary cars will also be differentiated by Special Edition badging, which combines the current Mazda brand mark with the round logo created when Toyo Kogyo was first formed. The logo will be found on the front fender, key fob, wheel caps, headrests and floor mats.

Mazda Australia says the 100th Anniversary Special Editions will be available in limited numbers across all the brand’s cars except the BT-50 ute.

Exact numbers, release date and pricing and will be announced later in 2020. Keen buyers can register their interest on Mazda’s website.
