A total of two recall notices have been issued this week from Hyundai and recall-kings Mercedes-Benz.

Up first is a recall for 2008-2009 Hyundai Elantra (HD) vehicles (VINs found here) which may have an issue that sees the driver’s airbag inflator potentially rupture when the airbag is deployed.

This could cause metal fragments to propel into the vehicle at high speed and cause the airbag to under-inflate.

Affected owners are urged to stop driving their vehicle and contact their preferred Hyundai dealer to arrange to have their airbag module replaced.

A recall has been issued for 2015-2018 Mercedes-AMG GT, AMG GT S and C63 models (VINs found here). Recalled models may have a fault causing the engine control unit to not function as intended after the vehicle has been shut off for more than 67 hours. This may cause the vehicle to not meet the required emission standards.

Affected owners are required to contact their preferred Mercedes-Benz dealer for a free software update.
