Volkswagen’s commercial arm has revealed the Caddy Beach campervan, it will be available later this year priced from $44,990 plus on-road costs.
 
The Caddy Beach will feature a fold-out bed, a walkthrough tent at the tailgate, two compact folding camp chairs and a table, tray tables for rear passengers, block-out window curtains, a rechargeable torch, and four storage bags for rear side windows.
 
Other equipment highlights include 17-inch Canyon alloy wheels, roof rails, tinted rear tail-lamps and tinted passenger windows. There’s also a 'Beach' decal.
 
Inside, buyers get a six-speaker Composition Media infotainment system with App-Connect.
 
Autonomous braking (Front Assist with City Emergency Brake), adaptive cruise, lane keep assist and fog lights with cornering functionality are also standard inclusions.
 
Underpinnings are shared with the Caddy Maxi Trendline. It’s powered by a 1.4-litre TSI220 petrol engine that develops 92kW of power and 220Nm of torque, matched to a seven-speed DSG.
 
The Caddy Beach will be available in Q4 2018, priced from $44,990 plus on-road costs. Full specifications will be announced closer to the Australian launch.
