BMW Australia has confirmed the all-new 3 Series Touring will go on sale locally in October. At launch, the 330i Touring will be the only offering priced from $73,900 plus on-road costs.

Powering the 330i Touring is a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 190kW of power and 400Nm of torque, it’s matched to an eight-speed automatic that drives the rear wheels. BMW claims it can sprint from 0-100km/h in 5.9 seconds.

Dimensionally, the Touring has grown and now measures 4709mm long (+76mm), 1827mm wide (+16mm) and 1470mm high (+8mm). The wheelbase has been extended by 41mm to 2851mm with a wider front (+43mm) and rear (+21mm) track.

As a result of the increased proportions, the boot can hold 500-litres of gear, 5L more than its predecessor. With the rear seats folded flat the load capacity increases to 1510L.

Australian models will be equipped with the M Sport package as standard which includes an M leather steering wheel, Anthracite headliner, an M body kit, 19-inch alloy wheels and adaptive M suspension.

Alternatively, buyers can opt for the Luxury Line option which adds fine-wood trim to the interior, a faux leather instrument panel, aluminium roof rails and a different 19-inch alloy wheel design.

Regardless of the equipment line, adaptive LED headlights, LED foglights, keyless entry and start, wireless phone charging and a 10-speaker audio system are included as standard.

The Driving Assistant Professional package is also standard and includes autonomous emergency braking, parking assist, lane departure warning and blind spot monitoring.

On the inside, things look identical to the sedan. BMW’s new Operating System 7.0 and Intelligent Personal Assistant are featured which includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen.

The 330i Touring is available to order now.
