The updated 2020 Audi A4 has been revealed featuring a fresh design along with a dose of new technology.

The exterior of the A4 gets the brand’s redesigned Singleframe grille, more aggressive looking fenders and fresh bumpers.

LED headlights are now standard with the option of Matrix units with automatic high-beam. There are also new LED tail-lights.

Buyers can dress up the A4’s exterior with one of three equipment lines – basic, advanced and S line, along with 12 paint colours, including the new terra grey.

On the inside, Audi’s latest MMI infotainment system shown on a 10.1-inch floating touchscreen is standard. Three instrument cluster options are available ranging from an analogue set-up to the digital 12.3-inch virtual cockpit plus.

European markets will get a choice of six turbocharged engines at launch with power outputs ranging from the 110kW 35 TSI  to the 255kW S4 TDI.

Three engine options will feature a mild-hybrid system (MHEV) which reduces fuel consumption by up to 0.3 litres per 100 kilometres according to individual Audi measurements.

Australian models are likely to be equipped with either a seven-speed S tronic or eight-speed tiptronic transmission with a choice of front- or quattro all-wheel drive.

The updated Audi A4 is expected to arrive in Australia in the second quarter of 2020. Further details on the model range, specifications and pricing will be announced closer to the local launch.
