Updates have been announced for the 2021 Maserati Quattroporte limo range bringing it into line with the recently tweaked Ghibli sedan and Levante SUV.
Priced from $210,990 plus on-road costs, Maserati’s revised flagship is distinguished by a modified grille and new rear LED boomerang tail-lights.
GranLusso variants get chrome grille and tail-light surrounds while the GranSport models feature piano black surrounds.
On the inside, the infotainment screen grows from 8.4 to 10.1 inches running the new Maserati Intelligent Assistant multimedia system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and over-the-air software updates.
The instrument cluster also gets a makeover but still includes two analogue dials flanking a 7.0-inch driver information display screen.
Every Quattroporte is now equipped with Active Driving Assist, the tech works with the adaptive cruise control to keep the car centred in its lane while maintaining a safe distance from the car in front. Maserati says the system will work on any well-maintained road at speeds of up to 145km/h.
Power in the base model Quattroporte, GranLusso and GranSport comes from a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine producing 257kW of power and 500Nm of torque. Drive is sent to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. It can sprint from 0-100km/h in 5.5 seconds.
The three Quattroporte S variants also use a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6, however, the outputs climb to 316kW and 580Nm, it’s matched to an eight-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive. The extra power cuts the 0-100km/h time to 5.0 seconds.
Later this year, Maserati will launch a Quattroporte Trofeo variant that will pack a 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine producing 433kW of power and 730Nm of torque. The brand claims it can dash from 0-100km/h in 4.5 seconds on its way to a top speed of 326km/h.
