Nissan has got on the ‘special edition’ bandwagon and announced the Nissan Navara N-SPORT Black Edition will be available to Australian buyers.

Based on the Nissan Navara ST-X 4x4 Dual Cab, the top-of-the-line model, the Black Edition will be available to 500 buyers and sees the inclusion of Nissan Genuine Accessories and decals (also known as stickers) in black.

Included in the black pack is a black sports bar and nudge bar, a LED light bar, black fender flares, black soft tonneau cover, N-SPORT badging and ‘Black Edition’ decals. To break it up a bit, gloss black honeycomb grille and smoky chrome fog lamp finishers adorn the front of the car.

Nissan Australia managing director Richard Emery said “The N-SPORT Black Edition gives the Navara a tough looking makeover”

He also thinks “Black is all the rage at the moment and certainly makes the Nissan Navara ST-X Dual Cab stand out. With its aggressive but stylish look, and limited numbers, we think this will be a popular variant for Ute buyers.”

The N-SPORT Black Edition will come with four exterior colour options: Cosmic Black, Slate Grey, Brilliant Silver and Diamond White.

Under the bonnet buyers will find a 2.3 litre intercooled twin-turbo diesel engine capable of 140kW of power and 450Nm of torque. It is mated with either a six-speed manual or seven-speed automation transmission. It will also feature a shift-on-the-fly 4WD system.

On the inside, the mod cons are included such as satellite navigation featuring 3D mapping, reverse camera and sensors as well as a 7-inch colour touch screen display.

Safety is not forgotten either with the Black Edition including driver and passenger airbags, driver knee airbag and front to rear curtain airbags, vehicle dynamic control (VDC) with brake limited slip differential (BLSD), active brake limited slip (ABLS), Brake Assist (BA), hill start assist (HSA) and hill descent control (HDC).

The Nissan Navara ST-X Dual Cab 4x4 N-SPORT Black Edition also has a 3,500kg braked towing capacity.

Available now the Nissan Navara N-SPORT Black Edition starts from $54,490 plus on-road costs for the manual transmission while the automatic transmission before on road costs, starts at $56,990.

This might be the only Navara special edition this year, Nissan is preparing a special edition for 2018 called the Mercedes-Benz X-Class.
