The updated Jaguar I-Pace has been revealed with the electric SUV getting a new infotainment system, faster home charging and a subtle exterior tweak.

For 2020, the I-Pace will get the brand’s new Pivi Pro infotainment system that debuted in the new Defender. The set-up consists of a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 10-inch upper and 5.0-inch lower touchscreens located in the centre console.

Jaguar says the system and menus are inspired by smartphones and is ready to go by the time you’re in the driving seat thanks to a built-in back-up battery.

The company is also touting the redesigned navigation system that reduces the number of steps required to set a destination by half and owners are now able to pan and zoom in and out of the map with a pinch of the fingers, just as with a smartphone.

New equipment also includes a 360-degree camera system and the excellent ClearSight rear-view mirror that provides an unobstructed view of the road behind, even with three people in the rear seat or with the 656-litre luggage compartment loaded up to the roof.

The cabin air ionisation function has also been upgraded and now features PM2.5 filtration to capture ultrafine airborne particles and allergens.

An 11kW on-board charger is now standard, enabling owners with access to three-phase electricity to enjoy faster charging, when connected to an 11kW wall box 53km of range (WLTP) per hour can be achieved, while a full charge from empty now takes only 8.6 hours.

Owners with single-phase 7kW wallboxes also have a charging capability of up to 35km of charge per hour, with a full charge taking 12.75 hours.

When charging with a 50kW charger, up to 63km of range can be added in 15 minutes, while a 100kW charger will add up to 127km over the same period.

With the car’s 90kWh lithium-ion battery fully charged, the claimed driving range is 470km (WLTP cycle).

In terms of performance, Jaguar quotes a 0-100km/h sprint time of 4.8 seconds.

Externally, the updated I-Pace is differentiated by a new Atlas Grey grille tip finish, larger 19-inch wheels for the entry model, and a Bright Pack that brings a chrome grille surround, satin chrome window surrounds and Atlas Grey for the rear diffuser.

The updated I-Pace range is available to order now priced from $128,860 plus on-road costs.
