Suzuki Australia has announced it will offer a five-year, unlimited kilometre warranty as standard on all new vehicles sold from October 1, 2019.

Previously, Suzuki offered a three year/100,000km warranty which was extended to five year/140,000km coverage if servicing was done on time at an authorised dealer.

The move follows Honda, Volkswagen, Holden, Ford, Mazda, Toyota and Nissan, all of which have recently moved to longer warranty coverage in line with changing market expectations. Kia and SsangYong continue to lead the pack by a offering seven-year warranty.

Along with the longer warranty, Suzuki has also announced changes to its capped-price service program that covers the first five years of ownership.

Under the new provisions, subject to kilometres driven, intervals are now set at 12 months/10,000km for turbo models and 12 month/15,000km for naturally-aspirated variants.

The old capped-price service regime required owners to visit the workshop every six months.

The new warranty and capped-price servicing program are fully transferable to subsequent owners.

For current owners, Suzuki Australia says it “will continue to support customers throughout the lifecycle of their vehicle if purchased before October 1, 2019, as per the previous CPS program terms and conditions.”
